Reportedly, a double-decker bus collided with another stationary double-decker bus on the Purvanchal expressway in Barabanki, leaving 8 people dead and 16 injured.
Manoj Pandey, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), reported that a bus from Sitamarhi, Bihar, struck a stationary bus from behind in the village of Narendrapur Madraha. He also informed that the injured have been admitted to the local hospital, and the severely injured have been referred to the Lucknow trauma center.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed his condolences for the loss of life in the road accidents and directed medical personnel to provide proper treatment.
Taking to Twitter, CM said, “The loss of life in a road accident on the Purvanchal Expressway is very sad. Instructions have been given to the concerned officials for speedy relief and rescue operations and proper treatment of the injured.”
