Transformative development marks Udhampur’s growth trajectory: Dr. Jitendra Singh

In a stirring address today, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, lauded the monumental transformation witnessed in Udhampur under the leadership of the Modi government over the past decade. Speaking at a massive public rally, Dr. Singh highlighted Udhampur’s evolution into one of the most developed constituencies in the nation.

Dr. Singh passionately refuted critics who fail to acknowledge the decade-long developmental surge, while conveniently benefiting from the region’s newfound infrastructure and opportunities. He challenged detractors to abstain from utilizing facilities like medical colleges and the Mukerjee tunnel if they doubted the strides made in Udhampur.

Underlining the remarkable progress, Dr. Singh emphasized Udhampur’s ascent as one of the top three districts in the nation for PMGSY road construction, even in the most remote areas. He cited significant milestones such as the establishment of a radio station, a passport office, and the construction of the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee tunnel and North India’s first river rejuvenation project at River Devika.

The minister envisioned Udhampur as a future tourist and religious pilgrim destination, alongside emerging as a hub for learning and innovation. He outlined the government’s commitment to transcending barriers of caste, creed, and region, focusing on propelling India towards comprehensive development.

Highlighting the success of the Lavender revolution in Bhaderwah and the burgeoning agri-startup culture in Basantgarh-Dudu, Dr. Singh underscored the region’s economic diversification and entrepreneurial spirit. He expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return to power and anticipated a historic mandate from the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, surpassing previous voter turnouts.

Dr. Singh concluded with a resounding call to uphold the legacy of progress, affirming the government’s steadfast dedication to realizing Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
