Good news awaits over 18,000 Group-D employees in Haryana seeking a change in their posts and departments. The government has recently initiated the process of creating a portal for this purpose.
Rajesh Kumar, a user on social media, tagged Chief Minister Manohar Lal, stating that 18,218 Group-D employees eagerly await the opening of the Department Change Drive portal. They wish to relocate from a distant location of 250 kilometers and move away from the police department.
Responding to this, Chief Minister Manohar Lal wrote from his personal social media account, “No need to wait for more than a week. There is a possibility that the government will open the transfer drive portal for Group-D employees by next week. This will greatly benefit employees currently dissatisfied with their jobs. The portal is exclusively for Group-D employees, allowing them to apply for a transfer from one department to another. For example, if an employee is currently in the Excise Department and wishes to move to the Food and Supplies Department, they can apply through the Transfer Drive Portal.
To do so, they must provide information about their preferences and dislikes on the portal. Only 80 percent of the total vacancies in the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) will be considered for appointment, while the remaining 20 percent will be filled based on departmental and post-wise calculations.
A letter was issued by the Human Resources Department a week ago to all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, and DCs regarding this initiative. All Group D employees appointed after the enactment of the Group D Act and posted in any department of the Government of Haryana are eligible to participate in the transfer drive. Employees wishing to change their station or post must participate online on the portal. Those failing to register and apply on the portal after the due date will not be considered eligible. Many Group-D employees in Haryana are posted far from their hometowns, affecting their job performance. To address this, the government plans to appoint all Group D employees of a common cadre near their hometown offices and adjust them to posts they find suitable.
In the transfer drive, efforts will be made to prioritize the employee’s transfer to any one of the three chosen districts. They will not be appointed to posts they do not wish to work in. However, it cannot be guaranteed that employees will obtain their preferred station or avoid positions they consider unsuitable.Employees will indicate their preferred districts and unwanted posts on the specified portal. The Head of the Department will submit the exact number of vacancies in each district and department using HRMS or the specified portal. Subsequently, employees will be assigned new posts or districts based on their choices and available positions
