Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, started distributing Rs 6,000 in cash assistance on Sunday to families impacted by the rains and flooding caused by Cyclone Michaung. The first flood relief distribution to residents of Chennai and the surrounding areas falling under the districts of Chengelpet, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur was marked by Stalin’s giving away of the cash dole to women heads of families at Velachery, one of the severely affected areas due to tremendous flooding.
A couple of days ago, the exercise of token distribution began. The tokens specify the date and time of cash distribution at jurisdictional ration shops. According to a press release from the government, those who have not yet received the token can apply for the cash assistance at fair price stores.
