Three women labourers were killed, while two others sustained injuries when debris from an under-construction building collapsed on them on Tuesday evening in the Virar area of Maharashtra’s Palghar district, police said.
According to the authorities, fire brigades were dispatched to the site on receiving information of the collapse. Personnel pulled out several labourers who were trapped under the debris and the victims were rushed to a nearby hospitals. However, three of them were declared dead on arrival, while the other two are undergoing treatment, a police spokesperson added.
The victims are yet to be identified and further details about the collapse are still awaited.
