Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, poked fun at the Congress on Sunday by saying those who undermine democracy cannot participate in “Satyagraha.”
Congress supporters on Sunday across the nation organised “Sankalp Satyagraha” in protest of Rahul Gandhi’s exclusion from the Lok Sabha. Party leader Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the ruling BJP and questioned why it was upset when fugitives like Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi were criticised. “Those who divide the country on the lines of language and regionalism cannot practice Satyagraha. Nobody has the right to engage in Satyagraha who does not have compassion for people,” Adityanath said in a statement issued here. He said Mahatma Gandhi always supported truth and non-violence.
