As part of their social initiatives, the Women and Child Welfare Society is actively working to empower economically disadvantaged women. In this regard, the society organized a fashion show featuring clothing prepared by women at the Sanatan Dharma Temple in Sector 45.
The society operates a sewing center in Sector 45, Chandigarh, aimed at providing sewing skills to economically disadvantaged women. These women have created clothing items, and the exhibition showcased their creations. The event was inaugurated by Ravi Garg, Deputy Director of Punjab Handloom and Textile Department. He commended the society’s efforts to uplift society through its various projects. Pooja Bakshi, the chairperson of the society, expressed that the organization, known as the Women and Child Welfare Society, Sector 45, Chandigarh, is undertaking various social service projects for the welfare of women and children. Among these projects, there is a sewing center in Sector 45, Chandigarh, where more than 100 women have been taught sewing skills. The clothing created by these women was showcased in the exhibition, including suits, salwar-kameez, and modern fashion garments. These creations received praise from attendees, and social worker Davinder Singh pledged his full support to the organization. Ravi Garg provided information about the various projects undertaken by his department. Members of the society, including Om Prakash Pushpakar, Secretary Ajay Gupta, Neeraj, Aman, Rabiya, Afsana, and several women from the sewing center, were present at the event.
