The joy and enthusiasm of the kite flying festival (Makar Sankranti) took over the entire state of Rajasthan on Monday as well. People continued doing rounds of charity. At the same time, special kite decoration was seen in temples the most popular Govind Dev Ji temple of the city.

The deity was offered sesame dishes and feini as obeisance. It is a government holiday, colorful kites were seen drifting across the blue sky throughout the day. However, most of the private offices remained open during this period.

Thakurji flew a golden kite. At the same time, Radhaji and her friends held the silver charkha. The sanctum sanctorum and Jagmohan are decorated with several kites. It was only after Mangala Aarti that people reached the temple to have the darshan of the deity. A day before this, about 4 thousand kites were distributed by the temple management. During this, a message of saving water, earth and daughters was given to the visitors and devotees.

A tableau of kites was also set up on the occasion of Makar Sakranti in Jamvay Mata Temple located in Jamvaramgarh. During this time, a large number of devotees arrived and took the blessings of Maa Jamvay. Mahant Bhagwati Prasad Vashishtha said that during this period a special aarti of Mataji was performed.

Radha Gopinathji temple located at Purani Basti and Shri Radha Damodarji temple located at Chaura Rasta were also decorated in the colour of kites. Other temples including Geeta Gayatri Temple located at Galata Gate also celebrated the kite flying festival.

A tableau of kites was seen in front of Thakurji. At the same time, kites were seen in Thakurji’s hands in some temples. Shyam Prabhu was seated in a kite in the Shri Shyam ancient temple located in Khurra of Kanwatis in Ramganj market. Temple Mahant Pt. Lokesh Mishra said that a large number of devotees witnessed this beautiful and special decoration.

On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, items were collected and donated from every house since morning. Women were seen collecting 14 items each and donating them. Along with this, people were seen feeding green fodder and jaggery to cows at various places in the city. Cows and birds were fed outside the temples.
