Addressing a public rally in Palakurthy, Telangana, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra emphasized the challenges faced by women in the state due to inflation and the policies of the central BJP government and the local BRS government. Priyanka promised monthly deposits of Rs 2,500 in women’s accounts and LPG cylinders for Rs 500 if the Congress is elected.
Highlighting the unemployment issue in Telangana, she pledged to provide jobs for 2 lakh youths if the Congress comes to power. Priyanka compared Telangana’s unemployment status to states governed by the Congress, where efforts were made to boost employment.
To address the problem of paper leaks, Priyanka announced the Congress’s plan to introduce a ‘job calendar’ if voted to power. This calendar would fix dates for exams, results, and job-related notices.
With Telangana’s upcoming November 30 Assembly elections featuring a three-way race between the ruling BRS, Congress, and BJP, Priyanka’s promises reflect the party’s focus on addressing economic challenges and employment concerns in order to garner voter support. The BRS won 88 of 119 seats in the 2018 elections, securing a significant victory.
