A 78-year-old man riding a motorbike tragically fell into a pit dug by the water board for repair and passed away while receiving medical care, as reported by the police on Tuesday. The incident occurred near the 7 Tombs Road in Hyderabad.
According to authorities, the man, identified as Ghulam Mohammad, lost his life after falling into a pit dug by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) for a drainage pipeline, with the contract given to Ayyappa Private Ltd. He was promptly taken to the hospital after the accident, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police have filed a case of negligence under IPC 304(II) against individuals associated with HMWSSB and Ayyappa Private Limited. An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, and further details are awaited.
