Even as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Y.S. Sharmila has hinted at forming a new political party, the BJP Telangana unit said that Andhra-specific political parties have no role in Telangana politics.
“While anyone can launch a political party and has the freedom to operate anywhere in the country, I don’t see even least electoral traction for the newly launched party of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s daughter Sharmila in the near future,” K. Krishna Saagar Rao, chief spokesperson, BJP Telangana said in a statement. He said that the BJP is a national party, with a specific regional agenda for Telangana and exhaustive national agenda. “We don’t consider any number of new parties in the state will impact our imminent rise in the state of Telangana.”
Rao said, “There’s a clear possibility that both CM KCR and CM Jagan have sponsored this new party with pre-emptive political designs. However, BJP is confident that people of Telangana have already decided to vote against KCR’s misgovernance and no such political gimmickry will save TRS from losing power in the next Assembly elections. People of Telangana are clearly expressing their intent to vote BJP to power in their aspiration for development and good governance in the next Assembly elections.
