In Mysuru, Karnataka, the Dasara celebrations are about to start. A sizable population is anticipated to visit the city this year, but without the COVID restrictions. Tejasvi Surya, member of parliament for Bengaluru South, has urged the railway ministry to send special trains to Mysuru to accommodate the large population.
On Saturday, the minister penned a letter to union railway minister Darshana Jardosh in which he wrote: “On account of the Dasara festival, South Western Railway has announced special trains to Mysuru from Bengaluru. More such special services must be extended from Bengaluru to Hubbali, Belagavi, Kalburagi, and Vijayapura to ensure ease of travel for passengers.”
Additionally, Tejasvi Surya requested that the federal government take into account creating a high-speed rail link between Hubbali and Bengaluru. “Hubbai has emerged as a growth centre in Karnataka, supporting Bengaluru. A high-speed rail connection between the cities will facilitate the travel of a large number of commuters, including businessmen, officials, and daily wage labourers” wrote the BJP Bengaluru South minister.
In less than a day, the heritage city of Mysuru will begin the magnificent celebrations of the Dasara festival. The festivities will begin on Monday and last until October 5. The Nada Kusti, Jumbo Savari, and Gajapayana are likely to be the festival’s main attractions in Mysuru. Tourists from all across the country will also come to see the magnificence of the famous Mysuru palace, which will be decked with colourful lights for Navaratris.
