TEAM CAN SUSPEND ME, BUT I CAN’T BE FORCED TO QUIT: BJP MP ROOPA GANGULY IN FB POST

Roopa Ganguly, one of the prominent female faces of Bengal BJP, and Rajya Sabha MP is once again making the headlines, and this time, ahead of the Kolkata civic polls.

Ganguly once again stood by the family of BJP councilor Teesta Das Biswas who was killed in a car accident near Tamluk while returning from Digha in East Midnapore on October 27.

She has prayed for the victory of Teesta’s husband Gaurav Biswas, an independent candidate from Ward No. 86. While fearing that the BJP might take action against her for this. Ganguly expressed her opinion about this in a Facebook post.

“Activity is a term that no one can take away from me. I am a frivolous worker. The team can kick me out, or suspend me, But I can’t be forced to leave the party,” Ganguly’s post read.

Extending her support to Teesta’s husband, she further wrote, “I pray to Mother Kali that the people of the area come forward and allow you to serve them.”

This is not the first time that Roopa Ganguly has taken a stand in favor of the late BJP corporator. Even before this, she was out of the BJP’s virtual meeting on the issue of Teesta and Gaurav and had also made a controversial post about it.

A few weeks ago, in her Facebook post, Ganguly claimed that Teesta was actually murdered. “Today, my belief got confirmed that Teesta death was not a mere accident but a murder. Sorry BJP4Bengal, I am with Gaurab (Teesta husband) in my little capacity. Now, I have a strong feeling that BJP wouldn’t have given ticket to Teesta if she would have been alive today. She didn’t compromise that is why,” read the post.

Ganguly’s recent actions are indicating that some fissures have developed within the BJP’s Bengal bandwagon.
