Teachers in the Deedwana district area were seen protesting, on Tuesday, against the delegation of non-educational tasks, including BLO (Booth Level Officer) duties, to teachers. The teachers held a vigorous demonstration today, raising slogans and submitting a memorandum addressed to the Sub-District Magistrate, demanding the release of teachers from BLO duties.
In the memorandum, the teachers highlighted that the Sub-District Magistrate issued instructions to conduct household surveys for all BLOs in the Deedwana and Molasar blocks, which they considered inappropriate. This is because the work of BLOs falls under the category of non-educational tasks and is contrary to the provisions of Article 27 of the Right to Education Act. They also emphasized that according to the orders of the Director of Education, teachers should not be affiliated with non-educational activities as it hinders the teaching process. In the Churu district also, all teachers have already been released from BLO duties.
The teachers issued a warning that if they are not released from BLO duties, all teachers would be compelled to participate in a collective protest.
