The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the names of Judicial officers Girish Kathpalia and Manoj Jain who were sworn-in as Additional Judges of the Delhi High Court.
The Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma administered the oath to the new judges and their appointment was being notified by the Union Government last week.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the names of three judicial officers which include Kathpalia and Jain for the appointment of them as the judge of the Delhi High Court.
It has been stated by the Supreme Court Collegium that Kathpalia being the senior most member of the Delhi Higher Judicial Service, wherein it has been reported by the Intelligence Bureau that he has a good personal and professional image and that nothing adverse has come to notice against his integrity.
The Supreme Court Collegium statement reads that this court is of the considered opinion of consultee-Judges with regards to his suitability for elevation.
The Supreme Court Collegium mentioned in the statement with regards to Jain that it has been reported by the Intelligence Bureau that he has a good personal and professional image and that nothing adverse has come to notice against his integrity.
The Supreme Court Collegium stated that Girish Kathpalia was the Principal District and Sessions Judge of the Tis Hazari Courts whereas Manoj Jain was the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Dwarka Courts, the South West District. Therefore, both Girish Kathpalia, Manoj Jain worked on the post of Registrar General of the high court.
