Sukhu Outlines Vision for Himachal’s Development

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu attended the ‘Swarna Jayanti and Himachali Milan Karyakram,’ an event organised by the Himachal Social Bodies Federation, as the Chief Guest today. He took the opportunity to congratulate the Himachalis present for preserving their state’s identity and culture in the national capital.
The Chief Minister discussed the state government’s commitment to developing Himachal Pradesh rapidly and expressed his vision for a progressive and prosperous state within the next decade. He extended an invitation to Himachalis living outside the state to witness the positive changes brought about by the government’s policies and programs in the coming years.
Sukhu highlighted the government’s recent budget focusing on growth across all sectors, with particular emphasis on uplifting the rural economy.
He mentioned various initiatives being undertaken, including the expansion of Kangra airport, connecting districts with heliports, and promoting tourism in the Kangra district.
The Chief Minister announced plans to make Himachal Pradesh a ‘Green State’ by 2026, outlining the government’s vision for embracing green energy. He detailed initiatives promoting electric vehicles, solar energy, and the Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Aashray Scheme, which aims to provide a respectable life for orphaned children in the state. Additionally, Sukhu mentioned efforts to empower women by granting land holding rights to girls.
Vice-Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board, R.S. Bali, presided over the function and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his dedication to the state’s growth. He emphasised the Chief Minister’s vision for strengthening education, health, tourism, and social welfare sectors.
R.S. Bali received the ‘Himachal Ratan’ award on behalf of his late father and former Minister G.S. Bali. The Chief Minister also presented ‘Himachal Gaurav’ awards to five individuals for their distinguished services. A blood donation camp and a cultural program were held alongside the event.
Representatives of the Federation and Himachalis residing in the NCR were in attendance.
