Successful Blood Donation and Health Camps Held at AYUSH Gram Faidan During Sewa Pakhwada 2023

In support of the Ayushman Bhava Campaign, the Directorate of AYUSH organized a series of impactful events on the occasion of Sewa Pakhwada 2023. The highlight of the day was the blood donation camp and health camp held at Ayush Gram Faidan under the National AYUSH Mission on September 26, 2023.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
A blood donation camp was held at the AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre in Sector 24-B, Chandigarh. The event was graced by the presence of Ajay Chagti, IAS, Secretary of Health, Chd. Admin., who honored the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also present were Akhil Kumar, DANICS, Director AYUSH, Chd. Admin., Dr. Manju Shree, Assistant Director (Homoeopathy), Dr. Rajiv Kapila, Senior Ayurvedic Physician, Dr. Aarti Verma, Senior Ayurvedic Physician, Dr. Preeti, HMO, Smt. Archna, President of Sankalp NGO, Mr. Aditya Nagrath, General Secretary of Sankalp NGO, along with a dedicated team of doctors and paramedical staff from Rotary Blood Bank, Sector 37, Chandigarh.
The Chief Guest, Ajay Chagti, IAS, extended his encouragement to the donors and presented tokens of appreciation. Smt. Archna, President of Sankalp NGO, provided insights into the NGO’s work and expressed gratitude to the AYUSH department for the collaboration. A total of 27 donors generously contributed to the blood donation drive, and the AYUSH Department pledged to continue organizing such events in the future.
HEALTH CAMP (AYUSH GRAM)
Simultaneously, a health camp was conducted at Village Faidan (AYUSH GRAM). The event received the esteemed presence of Mr. Jasbir Singh Laddi, Area Councilor Faidan, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Anantjot Kaur, Senior Ayurvedic Physician, Dr. Sunaina, HMO, Dr. Gaurav, HMO, Dr. Savita, AMO, Dr. Anurita, AMO, Dr. Sudhanshu, UMO, Dr. Swati, CHO-cum-AMO, Dr. Jaspreet, HMO, Dr. Suriti, AMO, Dr. Shalini, AMO, and Dr. Inderpal, Epidemiologist Malaria Department were also present.
The highlights of the health camp included:
Free AYUSH OPDs: Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic, and Unani Doctors offered free consultations and free medicines were dispensed to approximately 202 patients.
Free Health Screening: The Family Welfare Department conducted free health screenings for NCDs, benefiting 45 patients.
Malaria Awareness: The Malaria Department raised awareness about the prevention of Malaria and Dengue, with 17 slides for malaria screening.
AYUSH Public Health Programs: Attendees were introduced to AYUSH Public Health Programs like Aurvidya, Supraja, Karunya, and more, which are being implemented in U.T. Chandigarh by the AYUSH Department under the National AYUSH Mission. Yoga sessions were also organized to inspire the public to prioritize health and disease prevention.
Medicinal Plants: Medicinal plants were distributed to the general public, and awareness was raised about the use of herbal plants available in kitchen gardens.
