Stepping into 2024

On the eve of a nascent dawn,
365 days unfold, a reel spun and withdrawn.
Swiftly fleeting, a mosaic of emotions play,
Smiles migrating, casting light that warms my heart’s bays.
Passion kindled by a loved one’s tender embrace,
Joy interwoven into lives, a splendid grace.
Laughter resonates in circles where I belong,
Aging parents, frail, once strong,
Us feeling exposed, neither old nor young.
Success and failure, applause and miss,
Profound lessons learned, a journey’s bliss.
As each year concludes with the setting sun,
A throwback unfolds, a blend of warmth, tender calm,
Yet a hint of anxiety, despite a well-laid plan,
Growing tad wiser with each passing year, the art of living just begun!
