State’s Revenue Patwari and Kanungo have gone on strike until January 10 against the government’s breach of promise. The President of the All India State Government Employees Federation, Subhash Lamba, strongly supports this strike and demands the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter as soon as possible, ending the strike by revising the notification to remove the discrepancy in the pay scale.
It is noteworthy that the state’s Revenue Patwari and Kanungo were on strike from January 3 to January 5, demanding the fixation of the salary hike notification of Rs 25,500 – 32,100 from January 1, 2016, instead of January 25, 2023, and implementation from January 25, 2023. However, the government did not take this strike seriously and did not initiate any talks. Therefore, this strike has been extended until January 10. The Revenue Patwar and Kanungo Association Haryana President, Jaiveer Singh Chahal, said that the strike will continue until the notification is amended. He added that their other demands include filling vacant posts and organizing departmental examinations for Naib Tehsildar, among others.
The National President of the All India State Government Employees Federation, Subhash Lamba, has strongly supported the statewide strike of Revenue Patwari and Kanungo since January 3 and strongly condemned the government’s grossly negligent attitude towards this strike. He demanded an end to the strike by implementing the agreed-upon demands through talks as soon as possible. He mentioned that after a long strike, on January 4, 2023, under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, talks were held between the Patwar and Kanungo Association and the government at Haryana Bhawan, Delhi. During the conversation, the Chief Minister had resolved the discrepancy in the pay scale of Revenue Patwari and increased the pay scale to Rs 25,500-32,100. The notification was also issued on January 24, 2023. However, in continuation of this notification, the government issued a letter on February 9, 2023, stating that the said notification is to be implemented from January 25, 2023. Whereas the association demanded that the notification should be effective from January 1, 2016, i.e., from the date when the pay discrepancy occurred. The association stated that the fixation should be on January 1, 2016, and its cash benefit should be given to Patwari from the date of the notification issue, January 25, 2023. The government had done the same in the case of ADA and LT. He mentioned that due to Patwari and Kanungo going on strike from January 3, 2023, work has come to a standstill across the state. However, the ministers are busy with their rallies, and there is no attention towards the problems of the people. He demanded the Chief Minister to immediately intervene in the matter and end the strike by issuing a revised notification.
