Due to various health schemes in the state, not only patients and their families but also doctors and healthcare workers are in doubt. During the previous Congress government, the integration of the central Ayushman and the state’s Chiranjivi scheme led to the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Chief Minister Chiranjivi Health Insurance Scheme. However, this scheme only covers the treatment of admitted (IPD) patients. Due to different health schemes in the state, the government, doctors, and healthcare workers are in doubt. During the previous Congress government, the integration of the central Ayushman and the state’s Chiranjivi scheme led to the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Chief Minister Chiranjivi Health Insurance Scheme. However, this scheme only covers the treatment of admitted (IPD) patients, while the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), operated by the state government for pensioners and government employees, is for both OPD and IPD patients. Despite the integration of Ayushman and Chiranjivi schemes in the Ayushman-Chiranjivi Yojana, the treatment is limited to admitted (IPD) patients and the state government’s Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) is operational for both OPD and IPD patients.
Even today, in the state’s government hospitals, around 200,000 patients rely on free medicine and testing plans. Despite this, the free medicine and testing plan were deprioritized by the previous government.
Five years ago, the state government did not expand the scope of routine checks under this scheme. The primary need for this scheme is in lower-level hospitals, where only about 15-20 types of tests are currently available.
In government hospitals in the state, treatment is done under the Ayushman Bharat Chief Minister Chiranjivi Health Insurance Scheme, and payments are made to insurance companies. Medical Relief Societies (MRHS) of hospitals are receiving better payments than this. Therefore, it is mandatory for recruitment.
Most people require primary or OPD treatment, and this facility is available in these schemes. There is no need to be a citizen of Rajasthan to avail of the benefits of these schemes.
In addition to this, no documentation is required for medicine and testing facilities, medicine written on the hospital’s prescription is given to the patient from the counter. Similarly, free testing is also available to patients.
