The Punjab government is set to celebrate the state-level convention on International Disability Day on December 5 in Chandigarh. The event will be graced by Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development.
Dr. Baljit Kaur, while providing information, stated that International Disability Week is being celebrated in different districts of Punjab from December 3 to 10, with the state-level convention scheduled for December 5 in Chandigarh. She mentioned that the Punjab government has taken a new initiative this year, directing all district social security officers to organize programs in each district to bring ongoing schemes related to the welfare of disabled individuals to the grassroots level.
She further added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is committed to the welfare of disabled individuals in the state. During the event, individuals with disabilities, those working for their welfare, and non-governmental organizations will be honored.
The Cabinet Minister appealed to individuals with disabilities to participate in these events to maximize the benefits and empower their lives.
