State govt’s pre-election appointments stir intra-party debates

The Lok Sabha elections are approaching. In this regard, the Rajasthan government can make appointments on several boards, commissions, and corporations. Discussions on this were held in a meeting regarding the Lok Sabha elections. Generally, the process of political appointments begins one or two years after the formation of the government.
However, this time, the party is likely to make some political appointments in view of the Lok Sabha elections. Directions have also been given from the Central Command, and there is murmuring within the party regarding this.
Party leaders believe that if some political appointments are made based on caste considerations before the Lok Sabha elections, it will benefit the party. The person receiving the political appointment will actively participate in election campaigning with full enthusiasm.
However, some leaders have expressed reservations about this.
They argue that these appointments should be made after the elections so that those who do not get positions do not protest.
The 20-point Program Implementation Committee, Rajasthan Information Commission, Khadi Gramodyog, Housing Board, Women’s Commission, Farmers Commission, Scheduled Caste Commission, Goseva Commission, Mati Kala Board, Rajasthan Sports Council, Wakf Board, Minority Commission, and many other boards and commissions have internal controversies among their appointed officials.
The previous Congress government formed several new boards. Just before the elections, the Gehlot government formed several new boards.
These include the Rajasthan State Raja Bali Kalyan Board, Rajasthan State Valmiki Kalyan Board, Rajasthan State Meghwal Kalyan Board, Rajasthan State Pujari Kalyan Board, Rajasthan State Kevat Kalyan (Mother Puri Bai Ki Kheer) Board, Rajasthan State Jatav Kalyan Board, Rajasthan State Dhanuka Kalyan Board, and Rajasthan State Chitragupt Kayastha Kalyan Board.
