Stakes high as parties gear up for Adampur bypoll

Adampur assembly by-polls are around the corner. The BJP has fielded Bhavay Bishnoi, grandson of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal from the assembly segment. Kuldeep Bishnoi, father of Bhavay, had resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP which necessitated the bye polls. Adampur is the home turf of the Bhajan Lal family and it has retained this assembly seat for 55 years. The Bishnio family remained undefeated in the segment. But, presently the forthcoming seems to be getting multi cornered as the Congress , the main opposition party and Aam Aadmi Party are on their toes in a bid to win the battle. Voting will be held on November 3 and the result will be declared on November 6. Bishnoi had voted against Congress candidate Ajay Maken in the Rajya Sabha elections in June and resigned from Adampur on August 3.
AAP has declared Satender Singh as party nominee in the assembly bypolls. Satender had contested the 2014 Assembly election from Adampur on a Congress ticket. Later, he left the Congress to join the BJP. However, he had recently switched over to the AAP. Satender is known as a confidant of AAP leader Ashok Tanwar who had been the Congress state president during the 2014 Assembly poll. The Congress is yet to declare the candidate and the party is mulling over to decide the same and in this series, Jai Parkash, former cabinet minister and a loyal to the Congress stalwart Bhupinder Singh Hooda, is being considered the strongest claimant for the ticket. The Congress leaders are on their toes to strengthen its position in the Adampur assembly constituency and the party stalwarts continue to woo the voters.
Kuldeep Bishnoi is putting his best to win the elections and is confident about the victory of Bhavay. Similarly, the AAP leaders continue to hit the tracks of Adampur and visit the supporters. Besides, all parties are putting their best to make other party leaders join their faction. Thus, political functions and new joining of workers in the Congress, BJP and AAP have already heated up the political temperature in the Adampur segment.
