Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain announced today that the district administration of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar will organize special camps for voter registration for SGPC polls on January 17 in all Gurdwara Sahibs of the district.
As part of this initiative, special camps will be conducted in all Gurdwaras of the district on January 17 to maximize voter enrollment for the upcoming SGPC elections.
The Deputy Commissioner mentioned that the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji will be observed tomorrow, January 17, in all Gurdwara Sahibs, and devotees are expected to pay their respects in large numbers. She further stated that patwaris and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present in all Gurdwaras to collect voter registration forms.
The patwaris and BLOs will individually assist each person in completing the enrollment process. Additionally, forms will be available on the spot and can also be downloaded from SASNagar.nic.in.
Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain appealed to all Sikh organizations to raise awareness among Keshadhari Sikh individuals aged 21 years or above regarding voter registration.
It is worth noting that eligibility for registration requires individuals to be Keshdhari Sikhs, and those who trim or shave their beards, smoke, or consume alcohol are not eligible for voter registration.
