A proposal to bring state anthem into existence for Haryana was tabled on the first day during the three-day session of the Haryana Assembly making all legislators to select one of three songs represented in house. Now in this matter, a three-member committee has been constituted by the speaker with the consent of all members which will function towards the finalization of the state anthem. During the proceedings took place on last day, a great display of mutual brotherhood and communal harmony was witnessed after an Congress Muslim MLA Mohammad Ilyas urged to induct the content mentioning culture of Brij and content pertaining to God Krishna.
Further, he sang song of local dialect of Brij region stating that. the song which has been proposed to be made the state anthem, does not mention Lord Krishna anywhere. In this episode,. There was widespread discussion pertaining to this that despite being a Muslim, how much faith and harmony he has towards Hindu religion. In this episode, the BJP MLA sang the nationalistic song Teri Mitti Mein Mil Jawan from the movie Kesari. Along with both of them, many other MLAs suggested forming a committee for the selection of the song.
Following the discussions and suggestions, Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta announced the decision to form a five-member committee under the chairmanship of BJP MLA Laxman Yadav which will include Bishambhar Valmiki, Neeraj Sharma, Geeta Bhukkal and Jogiram Sihag as members.with the consent of house. Along with both of them, many other MLAs suggested forming a committee for the selection of the song. During the discussed held pertaining to matter, another example was witnessed when Home Minister Anil Vij said that proposed song for state anthem does not mention Sikhism. In such a situation, details related to Sikhism are also necessary in the anthem selected. Faridabad MLA Neeraj Sharma also suggested adding information related to Lord Krishna and Braj region in the anthem.
Congress MLA Amit Sihag said that keeping in view the importance of the issue, everyone’s suggestions should be taken seriously. On the same issue, Speaker Gyan chand Gupta said that applications were invited for the selection of the state song and 3 songs were selected out of 208. Th Further in the matter, Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda requested to remove some specific words. Apart from him, many MLAs including Kiran Chaudhary, Kuldeep Vats and other legislators came up with concerned suggestions.
