Paola Maino, the mother of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, passed away at her residence in Italy.
The funeral was held on August 30 on Tuesday.
Jairam Ramesh, a senior member of the Congress, tweeted the information.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Smt. Sonia Gandhi’s mother, Mrs. Paola Maino passed away at her home in Italy on Saturday the 27th August, 2022. The funeral took place yesterday.”
Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi left for Italy to say their final goodbyes.
