Congress parliamentary party leader Sonia Gandhi has gone to Jaipur, but surprisingly she is not there to campaign but due to the high level of AQI level in Delhi. Moreover, after Diwali, pollution in the capital has forced Mrs Gandhi to shift her away from Delhi to Jaipur.
Congress communication incharge Jai Ram Ramesh took “X” to inform that “Chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Party Smt Sonia Gandhi is in Jaipur for the next few days to avoid the air pollution in New Delhi. It is a purely personal visit.”
Rahul Gandhi will be based in Jaipur and will campaign in Chhattisgarh on 15 November and in Rajasthan on 16, 19, 21 and 22 November. As Sonia Gandhi is an asthma patient, the pollution level in Delhi has forced her to move away from Delhi for clean air.
Interestingly, she goes away from Delhi every year near Diwali and usually the destination used to be Goa or Himachal Pradesh but this time she has chosen a place that goes for poll on 25 of this month. Congress party can term Sonia’s visit as personal but a politician like Sonia Gandhi in Jaipur will obviously have some political engagements for the party.
