Snowfall continues for second consecutive day in Badrinath

From Friday evening, there has been nonstop snowfall for the past two days in Badrinath, Uttarakhand. As the snowfall continued into the second day, starting on Friday evening, officials reported that two inches of snow had fallen in the temple town.

ANI was able to obtain images showing the Badrinath Dham, one of the four pilgrimage sites of Char Dham, covered in a heap of snow. As of earlier this month, officials announced that the Shri Badrinath Dham portals would close for the winter on November 18.

April 27 of this year marked the opening of Shri Badrinath Dham’s doors for devotees.
Over 50 lakh pilgrims had visited Char-Dham by October 16, according to the Uttarakhand Police Headquarters. 5,40,000 vehicles or so also made it to Char-Dham at this time.

Over 17,8000 pilgrims visited Kedarnath Dham, 15,9000 visited Badrinath Dham, 8,46,000 visited Gangotri, 6,94,000 visited Yamunotri, and over 1,77,000 visited Hemkund Sahib following the start of the Yatra.
