Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Owais Ahmed, has called for prompt and decisive action in the vital delimitation process for municipal wards in Srinagar.
A meeting was convened to discuss and strategize the delimitation process with committee members responsible for drafting a proposal for the demarcation of municipal wards. The primary objective is to establish a fair and representative governance structure for the city.
During the meeting, Commissioner SMC underscored the paramount importance of the delimitation process in ensuring equitable representation at the municipal level. He urged the committee to prioritize transparency, fairness, and public participation throughout the process while strictly adhering to legal guidelines and timelines to guarantee the accuracy of the final demarcation.
In addition to stressing the importance of regular updates to his office, Commissioner SMC highlighted the significance of effective progress monitoring to ensure the process’s efficiency.
