The sixth large cat to be captured since the launch of “Operation Leopard” was a leopard that was captured by forest officials in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, close to the Lord Narasimha Swamy temple on Wednesday. Since August, six leopards have been captured. TTD and the Forest Department are continuously working to protect worshippers, according to TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy. The officials added that Lakshitha, a young girl, was killed by a wild animal there last month when the leopard attacked and killed her.
“Arrangements are being made to take samples of this sixth leopard and send them for testing with targeted samples,” he said.
The forest department launched ‘Operation Leopard’, in August after several leopards were sighted on the walkway to the hilltop temples.
