SINGER-SONGWRITER SANJEETA BHATTACHARYA MAKES HER DEBUT IN WEB SERIES

CHENNAI: In a very short span of time versatile artist Sanjeeta Bhattacharya has attained quite success and fame in her acting career which many people strive to get. She was recently casted in Dream11 ad alongside former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni just within 5 months after she started acting in commercials. A singer and songwriter by profession, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya has already created many successful independent music singles before making her debut in acting. A graduate from Berklee college of Music, she has composed songs belonging to various genres such as Jazz, Latin Jazz, R&B and pop.

Her track “Everything’s Fine?” put her on Spotify’s global emerging artist program, RADAR in July 2020 and one of her latest is a collaboration with Malagasy singer Niu Raza called ‘Red’. Sanjeeta Bhattacharya is now making her debut in the OTT platform in the Netflix series “Feels Like Ishq” which is slated to release on 23rd of this month. Basically an anthology in category, the web series has been directed by Danish Aslam.

In a candid conversation Sanjeeta Bhattacharya avers, “The name of my story in the anthology is SheLoves Me, She Loves Me Not and it is based on queer relationship. Saba Azad is the other lead in that episode. The name of my character is Muskan. The story is about an introvert and extrovert person and a very sweet relationship blossoms between the two.”

Daughter of eminent visual artist Sanjay Bhattacharya, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya has also performed in music festivals such as Panama Jazz, NH7 Weekender and Magnetic Fields. She further said, “I have learnt Hindustani classical music from Sunanda Sharma and Kathak from Pandit Birju Maharaj. My parents have always been encouraging.”
