In a successful operation, security forces intercepted and neutralized two militants attempting to infiltrate along the Line of Control (LoC) at Uri in Baramulla on Wednesday. The militants took advantage of low visibility and adverse weather conditions in their attempt to cross the LoC.
Sources report that the soldiers engaged the militants in a firefight, resulting in the death of both intruders. This marks the 42nd incident of militants being neutralized along the LoC this year.
Security forces have been vigilant, especially in the face of increased infiltration attempts, with six thwarted since September 17. Incidents occurred in various areas, including Reasi’s Chassana, Narla in Rajouri, and three in North Kashmir’s Uri, Baramulla, and Kupwara.
The challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions during winter make the passes along the LoC susceptible to infiltration attempts. This surge in incidents underscores the continued efforts of security forces to maintain a strong defensive posture and prevent unauthorized crossings along the LoC.
