A potentially catastrophic incident was prevented when an improvised explosive device (IED) was discovered in a terrorist hideout in the Gursai top region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Wednesday, officials reported.
As per officials, the recovery was made during a collaborative search operation conducted by the J-K Police, Army, and the CRPF.
Following this, the bomb disposal squad quickly neutralized the IED with a controlled explosion. Officials stated that this proactive measure thwarted the terrorists’ plans to carry out explosions in the Union Territory.
Earlier, security forces dismantled a terrorist hideout on Saturday and seized weapons and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi region.
The hideout was discovered during a collaborative operation involving the Jammu and Kashmir police and the Indian Army’s 58 RR in the Lancha area of Mahore sub-division in Reasi, officials said.
