SC to hear plea of government servant on Tuesday, accused of raping

The Supreme Court will hear on Tuesday the application for anticipatory bail of a government servant who was accused of raping his fiancee after roka ceremony and even before their engagement. The petitioner pleaded for an early hearing of the matter in the Supreme Court before the vacation bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, saying that the police was ambushed in his government office. He should be protected from arrest.Actually the marriage of this government employee was arranged through a matrimonial website. Both met and the pre-engagement ritual Roka was also completed. According to the petitioner, in the meanwhile the relationship between the two was also formed with mutual consent. But in the meantime the relationship broke down due to mutual tension and estrangement. After this the fiance filed a case of rape against her future husband.Justice Amanullah said, “You met through matrimonial website, it means that you were eager and willing to get married. But after you have spent some time with the relationship, now rejected. This is not fair at all.”On this, the petitioner clarified that it is not so at all. He is a government employee. But his fiance has filed a false case in anger and selfishness. He needs protection from arrest so that he can prove his innocence. On this, the court assured to hear it on next Tuesday.
