SBI officers association and Desh Bhagat Radio collaborate for women’s day walkathon

The SBI Officers Association, in partnership with Desh Bhagat Radio, orchestrated a dedicated walkathon in celebration of International Women’s Day. Sanjay Kumar Sharma, the General Secretary of the State Bank Officers Association (SBIOA), extended a warm welcome to Vinod Jaiswal, Chief General Manager of SBI, who graced the event as the Chief Guest. Sharma paid tribute to the power of women and acknowledged their special role in society on Women’s Day.

RJ Sanghamitra, the Head of Desh Bhagat Radio Station, expressed gratitude to Sanjay ji and, before flagging off the walkathon, Vinod Jaiswal emphasized the significance of International Women’s Day and provided information about the bank’s schemes for women’s welfare. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, congratulated everyone on Women’s Day, emphasising the importance of ensuring every girl in society has access to education. Kaur pledged the university’s commitment to supporting girls from needy families in their education.

Madam Sanghamitra, station head of Desh Bhagat Radio, extended Women’s Day wishes, stating that today’s women are not weak but progressive contributors to the country. Sanghamitra highlighted Desh Bhagat Radio’s various programs aimed at raising awareness among women, featuring successful individuals in social welfare, healthcare, civil services, law, judiciary, police, and other progressive sectors.

The awareness run, which commenced from State Bank’s Local Head Office (LHO) in Sector 17, passed through Matka Chowk, concluding at Sukhna Lake. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 150 lady officers and 200 male officers. Residents of the city, including children, women, and the elderly, joined in with great enthusiasm. Participants received T-shirts, caps, and certificates in recognition of their involvement in the race.
