The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) carried out a late-night operation in the Sam area of Jaisalmer, where active members of the Marwad region’s notorious government gang were caught celebrating the New Year. The gang leader, along with three other criminals, was apprehended. The gang’s leader is wanted in Sikar and Nagaur districts. The arrested individuals include Rakesh Godara (28) and Sunil Godara (25) from Dhol, Sikar district, and Rajendra Bhati (26) and Aditya, also known as Monu (27), from Banwasa, Khunkhuna police station, Nagaur district. Rakesh Godara is the leader of this gang.
Additional Director General of Police, Crime, and Anti-Gangster Task Force, Dinesh MN, stated that the AGTF has been consistently taking action against gangsters, hardcore criminals, and notorious felons since its formation. In this series, Head Constable Rakesh Jakhar received information that some members of the government gang were planning to celebrate the New Year in Jaisalmer, and they might be carrying weapons. Acting on this information, a special team was sent to Jaisalmer. The team identified the location where the government gang members were partying. After confirming the information, the SHO of Sam Police Station was informed. Late at night, the suspects were apprehended at the location.
Active Gang in Marwad Region:
The government gang is particularly active in the Marwad region, often involved in various criminal activities in Nagaur and Jodhpur districts. Cases against this gang include robbery, attempted murder, theft, assault, and fraud, recorded in various police stations.
