Sangrur district welcomes 14 modern libraries at Heroz Stadium opening

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann dedicated 14 new state-of-the-art libraries to the people in Sangrur district on Thursday as part of initiative to establish modern libraries for development and prosperity in the state. He inaugurated a weightlifting center and an AstroTurf at Heroz Stadium during the event.

The Chief Minister expressed hope that these libraries would contribute to the development and well-being of the state and emphasized the importance of instilling a habit of reading among the youth. He stated that the first step is to cultivate reading habits among the youth, which will play a crucial role in empowering them socially and economically.

Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted the significance of these modern libraries, stating that they house a diverse collection of books related to various subjects, catering to the interests of book lovers. He emphasized that these libraries come equipped with high-tech facilities such as air conditioners, inverters, CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi, and other conveniences.

Mann further stated that these libraries contain rare and valuable books, enhancing the experience for book enthusiasts. He expressed the hope that these libraries would play a vital role in changing the destiny of the youth in the state, leading them to become successful professionals in various fields.

The Chief Minister also mentioned the government›s commitment to supporting athletes and inaugurated the weightlifting center and AstroTurf during the event. He praised Punjab›s achievements in sports, particularly in hockey, and highlighted the government›s efforts to provide financial incentives and facilities to motivate athletes.

Additionally, Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that the government has decided not to conduct the Republic Day parade on synthetic tracks in any stadium in Punjab, considering the inconvenience it poses to athletes. He emphasized the need to protect athletes from any harm and announced that events showcasing the rich cultural heritage and achievements of the state would be organized during parades.

Mann acknowledged the difficulties faced by athletes due to the noise generated by vehicles and machinery during parades and affirmed the government›s commitment to ensure no harm to the basic structure of sports grounds. He concluded by stating that the decision would be implemented during the Republic Day celebrations in Ludhiana.

The Chief Minister invited everyone to the upcoming event in Ludhiana, where the government is committed to promoting sports and ensuring the integrity of sports infrastructure in the state.
