Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia today accused an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cabinet minister of indulging in moral turpitude by exploiting a hapless victim even as he accused chief minister Bhagwant Mann of protecting his blue-eyed boy despite knowing about the ghastly incident.
Addressing a press conference here, the former minister said “This predator has no right to remain in the Punjab ministry and should be dismissed immediately”. He also tried to connect to the chief minister during the press conference itself but failed in this attempt as the operator at the chief minister’s residence said Bhagwant Mann had gone to the office even as the office phone remained on busy mode.
Asserting that he was talking to the chief minister in the language he understood, Bikram Majithia said “Earlier on the eve of Diwali I had informed the chief minister that he would not like to shake hands with one of the cabinet ministers greeting him on the occasion of Diwali once he came to know about the minister’s misdeeds.
I followed this up with a photograph of a Diwali present post the festival and asked the chief minister for time to meet him and present proof of his ‘man-pasand’ minister’s heinous acts. I did this because the chief minister also believes in interacting with his opponents on X as was witnessed when leaders were invited to a so-called debate on Punjab issues on X only”. Majithia, who had got the Diwali gift box with him, opened it and showed newsmen that it contained a pen drive in which the shameful activities of the minister had been recorded.
