A case of sacrilege has come to the fore in Mansurpur village under Phillaur of Jalandhar in Punjab. Anarchic elements committed sacrilege by entering inside Guru Singh Sabha Gurghar Gurudwara located in village Mansurpur. The accused entered the Gurughar where they tried to loot the money box. At the same time, they spat tobacco near the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. There is a lot of anger in the Sikh Sangat regarding this incident of sacrilege.
Two miscreants entered the Gurughar between quarter to five and five in the morning. When both were vandalizing the Gurughar, the granthi of the Gurughar also reached the spot. But both the robbers were so fearless that one picked up something in his hand and hit it towards granthi. Granthi defended himself and got out of the Gurughar. After this both the robbers started running away, one was caught by the granthi. The villagers chased the other fleeing robber on the noise of granthi and caught him as well.
Jalandhar Rural Police officially mentioned that they have arrested two accused in this case and investigation is in process.
Attempts are being made to vitiate the atmosphere of Punjab by doing sacrilege at religious places. The Sikh Sangat said that all this has been done deliberately with the intention of provoking people by hurting their faith. The anarchic elements that have entered Gurughar seem to be from outside states. Only they can carry out such a deplorable incident by consuming tobacco. Sikh Sangat also says that all this can also be a part of some conspiracy. Leaders of political parties also condemned the sacrilege incident.
Bhulath’s MLA Sukhpal Khaira expressed deep concern over the incident by tweeting. He said that it is with a very sad heart that he is sharing this video of sacrilege, in which atheist fanatics spat after eating tobacco at the place where Sri Guru Granth Sahib is decorated. Tagging the Chief Minister of the state, Bhagwant Mann in his tweet, he wrote that he should get the culprits arrested as soon as possible.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has also strongly condemned the incident of sacrilege in Mansurpur village of Jalandhar. SGPC spokesperson Harbhajan Singh said on his Twitter handle that the incident of sacrilege in Jalandhar’s Mansurpur Gurughar is shocking. SGPC strongly condemns this.
