Sachin Pilot resumes war with CM Gehlot before Rajasthan assembly polls

Prior to the state assembly election, new issues are arising in Rajasthan as the conflict between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot resurfaces.

Sachin Pilot declared during a press conference on Sunday that he will go on a one-day hunger strike on 11 April in protest of his own government. Pilot claimed that he urged Gehlot to address the accusations against the former CM Vasundhara Raje government but received no response.

“We all made those accusations against Vasundhara Ji’s government. As the then-president of the state party unit, I also made some charges. I oppose political retaliation, Sachin Pilot said.

“I think we should talk, and I wrote to Gehlot ji almost 1.5 years ago that it is time to probe the allegations that we levelled against the BJP government.

“The Congress ought to demonstrate to the people that there is no gap between our words and action,” Pilot said.

The first letter was written by me on 28, 2022. But we got no reply. Then, on 2 November 2022, I wrote once more. “I wrote that the public believed us and moved us from 21 seats to 100 seats.” He continued by saying that he wanted to take some action on these corruption allegations.

The Rajasthan government is not even using its agencies, while the Centre is abusing the ED and CBI to target the Congress leadership, Pilot said.

He went on to say that he wants this to come into the public domain. “The public and the Congress leaders should not think that there is a difference between our kathni and karni,” he said.
