On Sunday, the National Student’s Union of India (NSUI) appointed Vinod Jakhar, who previously served as the president of the Rajasthan University Student Union, as the new state president.
The order for Jakhar’s appointment was issued by K.C. Venugopal, the organisational secretary of the Congress party. Vinod Jakhar has been entrusted with the responsibility of a youth Dalit face in place of Abhishek Chaudhary.
Abhishek Chaudhary was given a ticket by the party for the Legislative Assembly elections from the Jhotwara constituency, but he lost the elections. During the rebellion in the Pilot camp, Abhishek Chaudhary had been appointed as the NSUI state president. His term had also almost come to an end.
