Amul’s managing director RS Sodhi stepped down from his post at the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), also known as Amul on Monday.
Meanwhile, in the board meeting of the Federation at Gandhinagar the decision was taken, and with immediate effects, Jayen Mehta, COO of Amul was given charge of Managing Director.
Moreover, the statement was issued in which GCMMF Chairman Shamalbhai Patel and Vice Chamrian Valamjibhai Humbal signatures were there which mentioned that with immediate effect the organization decided to end the services of RS Sodhi as Managing Director of the Federation.
Talking to the media Sodhi confirmed the news and said, “I was on extension. The board has accepted my resignation.”
However, 40 years back Sodhi joined GCMMF as a sales officer and for the last two years Sodhi was on an extension. Since June 2010 Sodhi had been made the MD of GCMMF and before that Sodhi was the President of the Indian Dairy Association.
