A popular American actor, stand-up comedian and author, Richard Belzer, who is best known for his role in the NBC’s police drama series “Homicide: Life on the Street,” left us for his heavenly abode. The author who is popular for starring in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit passed away at the age of 78.
The tragic news of actor’s demise was confirmed by a writer, Bill Scheft, in a statement to the People. “His last words were, ‘F— you, motherf—er,'” Scheft told the outlet. As per the statment given by Scheft , the actor passed away at his home in Bozouls in southwest France “peacefully with family at his side.”
The actor who had been battling with several health issues is survived by his third wife, Harlee McBride, his step daughter’s Bree and Jessica and his cousin and friend Henry Winkler.
After learning about the actor’s demise, the creator of Law and Order, Dick Wolf, said in a statement that he really loved his character on the show. Everyone will miss him very much as he bought immense joy and humor on the sets. Universal Television and NBC also paid their tribute to the actor. They stated that Richard Belzer had much impact on everyone’s life as his beloved character on show quickly became popular among the audience.
