Residents to protest due to poor electricity supply

Due to a lack of proper electricity supply in many villages adjacent to the city, residents are facing problems. The unsatisfactory condition of electricity supply in villages such as Machli Kalan, Machli Khurd, Giddarpur, Soe Majra, Bharatpur, Maujpur, Bhago Majra, Manak Majra, Saidpur, Swada, Chuhad Majra, etc., which fall under the feeder of village Chudiala Sudan, has led to warnings from the people. It has been stated that if the electricity supply is not improved within a week, the residents of these areas will protest against the electricity department by blocking the road at Landra Chowk.

Senior Congress leader Harkesh Chand Sharma, a resident of Machli Kalan, Sarpanch Jaswinder Singh of Giddarpur, Sarpanch Avtar Singh of Bhago Majra, and Sudesh Kumar Goga expressed their concerns. They mentioned that prolonged power cuts are causing severe problems in the villages, affecting households and causing inconvenience to landlords. Despite the lower demand for electricity during the winter season, the frequent power cuts represent a significant failure on the part of the electricity department and the government.

People argue that if electricity supply has to be stopped, then what is the use of waiving off 600 units. There is considerable anger among the residents due to the poor condition of electricity supply, and if improvements are not made within a week, the residents of these areas plan to fight against the government and protest by blocking the road at Landran Chowk.
