The encroached land covers an area of four acres and is located in Chakkarpur village, adjacent to the Hamilton Court residential society.
“We have made several complaints in this regard and requested disconnection of power supply to the illegal structures but no action has been taken. The officials cited non-demarcation and no ground report on the actual situation of the erected electricity meter as reason for not disconnecting the supply,” the letter mentioned.

The demarcation and survey report has now been submitted to the revenue department of district administration and discom by the landowners seeking disconnection action.Gurgaon: After flagging concerns about safety and security due to unauthorised construction and illegal commercial activities, residents of housing projects and private landowners off Galleria Road have written to Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) demanding immediate disconnection of power supply to these unauthorised shops and vendors.

In a letter to DHBVN superintending engineer PK Chauhan, the land owners said these power connection meters are installed on their land, but connections have been provided to the illegal commercial establishments in violation of the norms.

The encroached land spans over four acres and falls under Chakkarpur village, adjacent to the Hamilton Court residential society.
“We have made several complaints in this regard and requested disconnection of power supply to the illegal structures but no action has been taken. The officials cited non-demarcation and no ground report on the actual situation of the erected electricity meter as reason for not disconnecting the supply,” the letter mentioned.

The demarcation and survey report has now been submitted to the revenue department of district administration and discom by the landowners seeking disconnection action.
A senior DHBVN official said, “We have received complaints in the matter. We have received the revenue report now and the concerned executive engineer has been instructed to verify the records with the revenue department and take appropriate legal action.”

The official further said that in the past, the department had imposed fine for extending the power supply from the erected meter beyond permissible
limits.

Anil Kumar, a Sector 27 resident, who had filed a complaint at the CM window last month, alleged that the civic and development agencies are not removing encroachments over their personal interest. “Despite repeated complaints, the district administration, MCG and other agencies are not taking any action against the illegal shops, including car repair workshops, scrap dealers and liquor vendors. They have not only encroached on government land and set up shops but have also started to park their vehicles there illegally,” Kumar said.
