Republic Day Hat-trick: State’s Tableau secures parade spot again

Haryana has a reason to celebrate as its tableau has been chosen for the third consecutive time for the Republic Day parade. The main theme of the selected tableau revolves around Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s flagship project, Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP).
Historical aspect of Rakhigarhi excavation and the discovery of Indus Valley civilization would be an added attraction on the tableau which would also have glimpses of growth of digital services in the state.

Last year, Geeta Jayanti Mahotava was the theme of the tableau and before that the sports achievements and Neeraj Chopra’s Olympic gold medal was chosen in 2022. A wing of the ministry of defence, which organises the selection and preparation of tableaux, had formally conveyed its decision to Haryana government last week.

The government appointed Dr Kuldeep Singh, a senior official from the department of public relations and cultural affairs, as nodal officer for the arrangements related to preparation of tableau, selecting artists, manpower or participants.

The main theme of the PPP would be as to how the PPP has been able to help beneficiaries in the last lane to avail government services. Similarly, the depiction of expedited dispensing of government services of various departments impacting the lives of people from a cross-section of society would be depicted.

On both sides of the tableau, findings of Rakhigarhi excavations could be highlighted.

This year’s Republic Day parade will feature a special display of sarees from across the country called Anant Sutra, organized by the culture ministry. Over 2,000 sarees and attire will be showcased along Kartavya Path, adding color to the celebration.

The emphasis is on showcasing women empowerment through all-women contingents, tableaux, and performances during the parade. Moreover, approximately 10,000 women beneficiaries of government schemes will be honored as special guests. Workers involved in the Central Vista revamp projects may also receive invitation.
