In view of the outbreak of cold in Haryana, the government has extended the school holidays. The Education Department has extended the holidays of children up to class 3 till January 18. DC will take the decision on holidays for classes above this at its own level. Official orders in this regard were issued on Monday
Earlier, winter vacation in Haryana was declared from January 1 to January 15. But since this year, winters have been harsher than usual in Haryana. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘red alert’ warning of severe cold from 15 to 16 January.
The Education Department has given instructions to strictly implement the order to keep these schools closed.
Earlier, in Punjab and Chandigarh also, holidays of school children have been extended till January 21.
Earlier, holidays for school children were extended in Punjab and Chandigarh. In Punjab, all government-aided and private schools up to class 5 will remain closed till January 21. Whereas middle, high and senior secondary schools will open from 10 am to 3 pm on Monday. The timings of double shift schools will be from 9 am to 4 PM. In Chandigarh, schools from class 1 to class 8 will remain closed till January 21. However, till then schools will be able to conduct online studies. Whereas students from Class 9 to 12 will have to come to school regularly as before. In Chandigarh, the Education Department said in its order that classes for students of Class 9 to 12 will not be held before 9:30 AM and after 4:30 PM. All schools will have to fix staff timings between 9:30 AM and 4 PM.
