Real story behind Rani Mukherji’s new movie

Rani Mukherji’s upcoming movie Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway is all set to release on 17 March. The trailer of the movie was launched on 23 February and already created a lot of buzz around the nation. It is a movie which is based on the real life story of an Indian woman standing up the Norwegian authorities to reunite with her children.
As we wait for the film to be released on 17 March, let us give the information about the real Mrs Chatterjee on which the film is based. The movie is based on Sagarika Chatterjee who fought for her kids and her story inspired the film. It is a story inspired from true life incidents of Sagarika Bhattacharya and her husband Anurup Bhattacharya. Back in May 2011, the couple lost the custody of their toddlers- three-year-old Avigyan and one-year-old Aishwarya- afte the Nowegian child welfare department, Barnevaarne, objected to her hand- feddign the kids, referring it to force-feeding. She had never stepped outside of Birati in West Bengal before moving out of the country to Norway with her geophysicist husband Anurup Bhattacharya. The couple’s life was turned upside down when the Child Welfare Services (CWS) took their kids on the ground of “neglect and emotional disconnect”. The children were to remain in custody until they turned 18.
The authorities objected to the fact that she fed them by hand, which they felt was force-feeding. The two were also accused of providing their kids ‘unsuitable’ clothes and failing to give them enough room to play.
Norway’s Child Protective Service also objected to their son sleeping in the same bed as the father.
