The closing event of the ongoing five-day awareness program organized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for Financial Literacy Week took place at Punjab National Bank’s Rural Self-Employment Training Institute in Garhi Kotaha Raipurrani.
The Chief Guest for the programme was Deputy Commissioner Panchkula, Sushil Sarwan, and the institute’s director, Ashok Kumar, presided over the ceremony. Guests included RBI Circle Head Chandigarh, Sanjeev Singh, and Team Leader Sameeta Singla.
During the event, Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan highlighted the significance of Financial Literacy Week, an annual celebration observed from February 26 to March 1. Trainees from the Rural Self-Employment Training Institute receive guidance on responsible loan usage to help them achieve their objectives.
Sushil Sarwan emphasized the prevalence of fraud through technology and urged individuals not to share personal information with unknown entities. He stressed the importance of precautions to avoid falling victim to online scams.
Certificates were distributed to the trainees, and information about RBI online banking and government schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana was provided by Sameeta Singla.
Sanjeev Singh cautioned about the risks associated with online banking operations in today’s digital era and advised against responding to messages claiming lottery or prize winnings.
