Congress state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has said that leaders who are considering switching to another party because they did not get a Congress ticket are also being surveyed. He said, “There should be no misunderstanding. If a leader says that his name is not in the survey, then he lacks intelligence. Because if there is a survey, no one tells that there is a survey going on. I want to make one thing clear, whoever wins will be given the ticket, whether they are in our contact or not. Those independent MLAs who appear in the survey as winning faces will be made candidates. We will support people who work for the party, talk about Congress, and are true Congress workers.”
Regarding the reservation for women, Randhawa says that Congress has always supported the idea of women’s reservation, as reflected in the bill in Parliament. Women candidates contesting on behalf of Congress in the upcoming state elections are looking confident. He further added that some political parties are still afraid of the hard work done so far.
Randhawa said that the issue of women’s reservation in Parliament is welcomed by the Congress, and they are also grateful to the BJP government at the Center for this decision, although some contenders consider it a Congress initiative. He said, “Women candidates are now looking happy. If women come forward, the country will benefit. Women are quite strong; they run homes as well. Women should not be considered weak.”
